Kombucha Leather

Undergraduate Research Program - SUTD

How might we improve the production process of homegrown functional kombucha leather?

Kombucha leather is a viable material with its unique properties, able to be grown in varying colours and thicknesses, to produce different properties suitable to replace a variety of materials, not just leather. Lots of research is still needed to test the physical properties of this material and lots more are needed to improve the strength and growth method. We hope you have found this report insightful into the world of kombucha leather, and the possibilities of this material.
